Cadaver Pulled The Plug

The Norwegian band Cadaver called it a day after 15 years. They already stopped playing back in '93, after they released thei first death metal record Hallucinating Anxiety (was an underground classic, selling 10.000 copies) and ...In Pains (sold 25.000 copies). The breakup was in because '93 was the year that Norwegian black metal overshadowed everything else in the Norwegian underground. The band could not agree on where to go next. In '99 they returned under the name Cadaver Inc. (they promoted the album with the cybershop CadaverInc.com where customers could buy alibis for murder) and released the record Discipline early 2001. They then resumed playing under their original name, Cadaver, and released their last album Necrosis in 2004.

"We would like to thank our fans for all these years and all the people who supported us. Thank you all!!!! Anders Odden, Carl-Michael Eide, Lasse Johansen and Ole Jørgen Moe."

Hammerfall entered the studio today

Swedish power metallers Hammerfall entered Lundgaard Studios in Denmark with producer Charlie Bauernfeind (Blind Guardian, Gamma Ray, Rage) on Saturday (Sep. 4, thats today) to begin recording their new album, probably done on March 7, 2005 through Nuclear Blast Records. A single will be released on January 31. Songtitles set to appear on the follow-up to 2002's "Crimson Thunder" include "The Templar Flame", "Born to Rule" and "Fury of the Wild".

"After finishing the songwriting and rehearsing the material over the last week, I can honestly say I'm very, very excited!" guitarist Oscar Dronjak writes on the group's web site. "The feelings I get from the songs so far are heavy, metal, and HAMMERFALL. ;-) Seriously, I think everyone will recognize the band in the new songs, but I do think some of them tend to be a bit heavier than we have done before. You will see (hear...) eventually, as will we."
