So you only like Black Sabbath-era metal?

Nah, just metalcore... although in that case Grindcore isn't metal either (because if someone says that grindcore doesn't have hardcore elements in it... he's obviously deaf).

Fuck you, you unpleasant prick.

Aw, c'mon man... You certainly don't mean that.

(Grindcore does have lots to do with -core though, that's why I pointed it out).

Yes and I enjoy grindcore, I mispoke. I suppose I meant scene "core" like the shit that has became popular in the last few yrs. These elements are what gave "the unspoken king" a bad rap in the first place AMIRIGHT??

In case other people missed it, the funny part in this comment is that all their albums are metal. It's funny.

Early darkthrone is also hella punk... in fact... They have always being one of the punky black metal bands. To be honest with you: You are the first one I see who gives so much credit to hardcore when it comes to black metal when everyone else gives it to punk.

Truth to be told I am kind of out of my area of expertise here, I always associated the harsh vocals, overall harshness and lack of verse-chorus structures with hardcore more than the punk but that is a genre I know next to nothing about music theory-wise, I can just recognize it from hearing but that means I won't be able to make out subtleties.

I am more familiar with the Sick Of It All-type hardcore which is a bit more, hmm, metallic than hardcore like Black Flag let's say, but I always felt that kind of hardcore (the latter) was very punky and the main difference was the harshness/lack of pleasant melodies, higher pace and throwing traditional rock n roll structures aside.

But even if black metal had less hardcore influences than punk, like I said my original statement about thrash still stands and I am 140% sure and confident of that and BM did come from thrash so...

Despite how.... ehmmm... "offensive" those bads are to you (and MANY others), they are still metal

Thing is.... Black basically took thrash... and gave it a BIIIIIIG punk injection + dark vibe + classic "shitty" production (this part is actually pretty punk based anyways).

I'm really annoyed by most of core genres, but what annoys the most is the tr00\kvlt\br00tal metalheads who blindly hates core.

If that makes any sense.

Can't wait for the horde of old fans to say once again how this band died for them.

... And that horde inevitably invaded this thread in their droves... I'm sooo surprised.

In all seriousness, how is "The Unspoken King" not metal? No matter the arguements against the material, I can't for the life of me see how anyone can seriously say the music on that album isn't metal... the lunatics have left the asylum methinks!

Then please enlighten me.

You mistake popularity (or "scene" music) for lack of talent, as like many other "metalheads" like you do. In reality, The Unspoken King is rated so low simple because it was bad. The "scene" music you're thinking of like Deathcore and Metalcore are still subgenres of metal, no matter how much your thick skull wishes to block out the idea.

And, honestly, dude: Some metalcore/few deathcore > a good amount of grindcore

You're opinion on why the album is bad is just that, an opinion. But I can agree about some cores being subgenres. And sorry for my thick skull, but I think your bad attitude is thinning it out thanks.

Hmmm.....album artwork looks like something for a half-baked compilation CD; not an officially new LP.

Still, it's the music that counts. Didn't bother listening to their apparent plane crash of an album from 2008 but hopefully it's a return to form.

How about brutal death?

I'd settle for progressive deathcore if they decide to return to writing good music.

Meh, I'm not a big fan of that genre tbh. I didn't like BoO's album at all. But, truth be told, I haven't really heard any others so...

You hardly like death metal at all, so it's kind of strange that you're even in this thread to be honest.
