Machine Head - Bassist Departs, New Album Announced
Machine Head has announced on their official website that longtime bassist Adam Duce has left the band. No specific details have been revealed yet, but the band has made it clear that Duce parted on good terms. On their website, the band states that they "would like to wish Adam the best with his current and future endeavors." Duce, who had served as Machine Head's bassist since its inception in 1992, contributed to all seven of their studio albums to date. His departure leaves frontman Robb Flynn as the only remaining original member.
Meanwhile, Machine Head intends to continue as a trio for the time being. They have now begun the writing process for the successor to 2011's highly acclaimed Unto The Locust. It remains unclear who will take over for Duce on this next album, about which no further information has been released aside from a tentative release in late 2013.
