Downfall Of Gaia - New Album Detailed, Streaming New Track

German metal act Downfall Of Gaia announced the new release of Aeon Unveils The Thrones Of Decay, the band's third full length studio release. The album drops on November 7th (G/A/S), November 10th (rest of Europe), and November 11th (North America) via Metal Blade Records. The band also presents a brand new 10-minute track, "Carved Into Shadows", available for streaming down under.

Downfall Of Gaia elaborates: "Each and every song deals with another unavoidable situation that the most of us already got to know. All of us are pretty satisfied with the result of the new record and we are excited to share this new piece of music with the audience. The writing process itself became a bit more complex just because of the fact that our new drummer Michael Kadnar is living in New York and all of us are based in Germany. But in the end we were able to manage all of this in a good way, hit the studio and record our most aggressive sounding record till today. Once again we recorded at the '79 Sound Studio with Christoph Scheidel and we couldn't ask for a better guy. Mixing job one more time by Jack Shirley from Atomic Garden and master by Brad Boatright from Audiosiege. Anytime again, guys. We can.t wait to play the new material live!"

Aeon Unveils The Thrones Of Decay tracklist:

01. Darkness Inflames These Sapphire Eyes
02. Carved Into Shadows
03. Ascending The Throne
04. Of Stillness And Solitude
05. To Carry Myself To The Grave
06. Whispers Of Aeon
07. Excavated

Aeon Unveils The Thrones Of Decay is available for pre-order on CD and digitally at this location.

Nothing exciting when it comes to the cover, but it's cute.
Now, the song. My memory must be failing me, because I don't recall them playing a mix of post-metal and bm. And that's what this song sounds like, in my opinion.

Yep, their last album was in a similar vein although the production really sucks for this track. Far too clear for their style...at least imo.

Weird, I listened to it like last month. I'll have to refresh my memory then.

Their full length debut was my AoTY runner-up in 2012. I like to think of it as post black metal with a bit of doom and crust punk in it.
