Machine Head - Announce N. American Tour, No Support Bands
Having just released their new album Bloodstone & Diamonds, Machine Head now announce a new North American tour. Previously, they announced dates with Children Of Bodom, Epica and Battlecross which they later cancelled to complete the work on the new record. They promised that new tour dates would be announced and here they are. What's different this time is that the band will be touring without support bands. The Bay Area metallers will headline an exclusive tour starting this January, which will span all across North America featuring just a two-hour set of Machine Head.
"We're doing 'An Evening With' Machine Head. Meaning: it'll just be us, folks," commented guitarist/vocalist Robb Flynn. "We are really excited about the idea, playing longer sets, throwing in some deep cuts, and just having our own world. Promoters in the US seem really stoked about it, some have said it feels like 'an event'."
In regards to the band's decision to only headline for this touring cycle as well as no longer play festivals, Flynn elaborates: "We're not trying to have a good time with a bunch of people who don't know who we are. If Machine Head throws a party, big or small, we don't want a bunch of 'strangers' there. This is about us and you guys, the die-hards! The Fucking Undesirables! We don't care about the others out there. We're here and we're not going anywhere, if those people want to be a part of this, they know where to find us. So for the time being, and maybe 'forever' we're done reaching out for them."
