Korn - Being Sued By Former Drummer David Silveria

According to TMZ, founding Korn drummer David Silveria is suing his former band claiming his 2006 departure from the group was just a hiatus and that he was ready to return to the band in 2013 but they turned him away. Furthermore, David Silveria claims he still has ownership interest in Korn, and is looking for his cut of the band's profits since he left.

The website reports that the legal documents reveal that Silveria is upset that the metallers welcomed back guitarist Brian "Head" Welch with open arms but wouldn't do the same for the drummer. It seems like Silveria is asking a judge to find out how much money the band made since he left and then wants to dissolve his partnership with the group once he gets his proper share of the profits.

Last year, David Silveria also apologized to fans for not being on Korn's tour that celebrated the 20th anniversary of their debut album.

Stay tuned for more details.

If I remember correctly it really supposed to be just a hiatus but that hiatus was so long so they kicked him out. It is all about personal conflict between Silveria and Jonathan Davis + Fieldy. It is probably about money. Ray Luzier is 'cheaper'.

Ray Luzier is 'cheaper'.

Also - much better. I'm not surprised they don't want Silveria back!

I don't care about Korn on a whole. Fuck Davis!

About the drummer? Well, sue the fuck out of Korn. Lately they're making shit ton of money from crappy dubstep albums.

What a butthurt asshat! This is insane. He sounds so upset that he quit to do restaurant owning instead of being in a huge band. Now he wants in now that Head is back and Korn is great again. Their new album The Paradigm Shift with Ray is better than the past 5 years worth of stuff and Silveria can't stand it. He sucks and was a basic drummer. Ray Luzier is amazing and more proficient and Korn loves him clearly. If Korn is happy with Ray and they keep making cool albums they should NEVER let David back. Fuck Korn fans that disagree, they are living in some nostaglic past that would never happen. People grow up and so has Korn's music.

Ray is a pretty amazing drummer. Korn seems to really like him too and they can actually write and jam with Ray unlike David. There is a new dynamic with Ray that I hope they keep. David is really pathetic. He left a huge band to get into restaurants, so fuck him. He comes across as really immature and arrogant like as if he thinks Korn was only successful because of him.

Korn has said repeatedly David left to own restaurants, but that has clearly left him broke or bored so he started some shitty new band that is going nowhere. He just wants Korn's money and is upset they are doing so well without him, so he says all kinds of nonsense about Ray's drumming which is sooooo much better than his. So I don't think it's about money entirely.

Exactly, he just wants some easy cash and can't stand seeing Ray up there with Korn being successful.

Look man, I don't mind you not liking Korn or Jonathan's dubstep influence, which I hated myself and didn't even buy The Path to Totality (which is their only dubstep album), but what you are saying is a bit dramatic. He can sue them, but won't get anywhere. They ditched him after he left to get into modelling and restaurants, so fuck David. Btw, you should check out the newest Korn album. I think it is a huge step into more heavy metal stuff for Korn. There is only like less than a minutes worth of dubstep stuff in the whole album if I recall and that's only on the single "Never Never." I kind of gave up on them years ago, but they've won me back with this one. Way more guitars with Head back and Munky riffing. Fieldy really works well with Ray's drumming too. But if you can't get past Jonathan's vocal change, I can live with that. Take it easy, man.

Alright, alright! I was just playing around. Don't take it seriously.

Now on a serious note, I really don't care about Korn and never want to know about their internal issues. The only good thing about former drummer is he is good behind the kit and has cover some classics Korn songs.

Oh, I surely give a go to Korn's new material too.

Okay cool man. I think Korn III and The Paragdigm Shift are certainly interesting at least. I didn't realize you were joking. Take care.

From what I heard of the recent album, they're still a sack of shit since 'Take a Look in the Mirror' :p
