In Flames - Drummer Quits

In Flames have lost another long-time member of the group. Drummer Daniel Svensson quits the Swedish band to spend more time with his family. The metallers are currently touring in Europe and that will be his final tour. He will dedicate himself to a brewery soon and focus on his family life. Who will be the new guy behind the drumkit? We will have to wait and see.

Daniel explained why he is leaving: "Time to turn the page... I have decided to close my chapter in In Flames after finishing up this current tour. It has truly been a fantastic journey and I want to thank Anders, Björn, Peter, Jesper and Niclas from the bottom of my heart, for all great memories and experiences that we've shared during the last 17 years(!) together.

"It's hard to leave what have become my second family, but now it's time for me to take care and spend more time with the most important people in my life - my wife and my three daughters. Perhaps some of you of will see me again, as I will start my very own brewery in a very near future. Something I am just as passionate about as In Flames. I wish my friends in the band, the whole crew and everyone that's working for In Flames the very best in the future. To you, all fans around the world, I want to say, thank you, massively, for all the support you have shown during my years in the band."

Daniel joined In Flames in 1998 to take the position as drummer when guitarist Björn Gelotte switched from drums to guitars. The first studio album Daniel appeared on was the timeless Colony (same album as Peter Iwers debuted on bass).

Or maybe they.....yeah this will be a difficult concept for some....don't WANT to go back to their roots. How about letting the band do what they want, instead of what you want.

Going back to their roots would be like going back to the past, with that I agree but their last album was such a letdown that what I read in this news sounds more like "we have gone as down as we could and we call it quit now". Anyway this is my opinion and I'm sure that some people love "the siren charms"

Another band I liked is gone, that's quite a lot of them now... Who's next ?

Let them do what they want but... is anyone actually listening to them anymore?

Im willing to take another 'Come Clarity' at this point. This band is the purest definition of GENERIC. Good for him. GTFO of this sinking ship wreck.
