Anubis Gate - Announce Kickstarter For New Box Set

Anubis Gate have launched a Kickstarter campaign for their new box set, Orbits. You can help fund the out of print first four albums that will be released as limited edition box set as well as unreleased bonus material. The progressive metal band needs to achieve $18,000 in order to finance this release.

The campaign will fund the re-release of the first four albums in the form of a limited edition 6-disc box set. It will contain the band's first four albums and two additional discs of bonus tracks. Originally released on the Spanish label Locomotive, these albums have been long out of print. After having released the first four Anubis Gate albums, Locomotive Music went into hiding, taking with them the rights and funds still owed the band. As a result, these albums became rarities, commanding high prices being sold second hand online.

I'd wondered why these albums had never been re-released; you can still pick up the (surprisingly good) debut for reasonable money, but the following three go for senseless prices when you can find them. Funnily enough, I've just listened to Andromeda Unchained and The Detached only this morning... this re-release would be well worth investing in, for fans of melodic progressive metal.

First gig was Manowar (loincloths 'n' all), Bristol Colston Hall in March 1983, on the 'Hail to England' tour. Tickets were £3.75, 300 in the audience, Mercyful Fate never showed, but my hearing still got seriously trashed..
