Lonewolf - Guitarist Leaves
French metallers Lonewolf just announced that guitarist Alex Hilbert has left the band, due to personal reasons. This happens at a time the band's new album, The Heathen Dawn, is about to be released on May 20th, 2016 via Massacre Records.
Frontman Jens Volker Mathias Bömer's statement: "It's with great sadness that I inform you that Alex left the band, due to personal reasons. I understand and respect his choice and wish him only the best for the future. The brotherhood will never die. We had 7 years of great joy and fun together, and I'm damned proud of all work we accomplished and albums we made together. More than any musician I met/worked with, Alex fascinated me with his amazing/unique sense & feeling for music and his incredible talent. I learned so much playing at his side/composing with him. You'll hear on 'the heathen dawn' leads & solos that I dare to say are some of the best he ever made. A great conclusion to his 'Lonewolf years', this album is the greatest gift he could deliver us for his last recording. He put all his blood and sweat in it.
"He branded Lonewolf with his style for sure and was an undeniable strong & important part of the band. But as the song says... 'Through raging waters and through storms, still we are going on, preaching the iron religion'. This sentence says it all: whatever comes...we are going on. Stay tuned - new information soon!"
