Eluveitie - To Play Upcoming Shows With Liv Kristine

As you probably remember, Eluveitie recently lost three band members. Now, the band announced that they want to take some time to carefully look for new members and find the perfect new line-up. But at the same time, the group will play every single show already confirmed for this year. So, they recruited talented step-in session musicians to play all their upcoming shows this year. For a few selected dates, Eluveitie unveil even a fourth guest: Liv Kristine (ex-Leaves' Eyes, ex-Theatre Of Tragedy) will share the stage with them and sing classics like "A Rose For Epona". How do you think she will fit in with Eluveitie?

"Cancelling shows is an absolute no-go to us! It's like letting our fans down! Unless there's an absolutely impossible situation by 'higher power' or so, we will not cancel one single show!", says frontman Chrigel Glanzmann.

The first appearance of Liv with Eluveitie will take place at the Masters Of Rock Festival in Czech Republic on July 16th. More shows with Liv Kristine will be announced soon!

The band comments: "We're super happy to have Liv with us for a handful of shows! It's an honour and also another great sign of how the metal scene stands together and musicians help out musicians!"

The Swiss metallers have played the first couple of shows with Michalina Malisz, Jonas Wolf and Alain Ackermann as well.

Even though I have never been a huge fan of Leaves Eyes, Liv does have a great voice, and it would be nice to hear some serious folk metal backed up by such a powerful singer. Yet alas Eluveitie has shifted towards modern mainstream metal in recent years and don't have many serious folk metal songs for her to lend her voice to.

I think Leaves Eyes actually moved away from folk metal even further than Eluveitie, they are just another symphonic metal band now. This could be a good opportunity for Eluveitie to rearrange the lineup and become an even grater band.

Is Robert Westerholt involved in this?

Why do you think that..?
I don't think Robert Westerholt has ever been in any project or cooperation with Liv Kristine..
His brother (Martijn Westerholt) has, for Delain.. so has Sharon den Adel but never in the same song..
Robert hasn't been involved with Delain afaik..

I'm glad Liv Kristine keeps doing things next to her solo career..
I really love this chick from the moment that I've seen her on the second tour of ToT..
She really has always been an angel fallen from heaven to me.. some times a bit more than other times..
I really liked her on the 3 first albums of ToT, after that it I liked it less..
Same as Leaves'Eyes.. it was somewhat good but very boring after a while..

She however did some awesome guest performances with "Atrocity", "Delain", "Cradle of Filth" (where she did get her angel status a little bit back imo), Genius (Band), "Heavenwood", "Samsas Traum", "Týr", "Primal Fear" though..

Hopefully this will work out great too.. I really hope this won't be just another disappointment..

I was trying to be a comedian. Apparently, I failed miserably.
I could be wrong, but I think Liv is not suited for Eluveitie. It seems very incongruent...kinda like whoever it was that Robert dragged in to sing with Sharon (pick one, they all sounded bad to me except for Tarja).
