I think Flesh Cathedral from Svartidauði came the closest to match/top the stuff of DsO in terms of quality. There are bands that copy the DsO sound more authentically, like Fides Inversa or Devouring Star, but i find them less interesting. Other worthy contenders are Ghost Chants from Outre, In Terra Profugus from Carpe Noctem, Black Wisdom from Grey Heaven Fall. There are a lot of bands with similar sound but it imo these are the best. Also De Praestigiis Angelorum form VI contains a few great DsO moments.

I think Grey Heaven Fall for me too. Also a really big fan of Glorior Belli's 'Manifesting the Raging Beast'. Like a simplified version of DsO but with top notch songwriting.

I strongly support the Grey Heaven Fall rec as well. It's DSO with less black but more death and progressive undertones.

Hyped as hell for this one;

And won't have to live long with that hype, so there's that.
