Khthoniik Cerviiks - Releasing Split With Howls Of Ebb

German death/black metal trio Khthoniik Cerviiks is joining forces with U.S. extreme band Howls Of Ebb on a new split release. The digisleeve CD will be out on September 15th, 2017 via I, Voidhanger Records, while the vinyl edition drops on August 2017 via Iron Bonehead Productions and Nuclear War Now! Productions.

Description: "Under the title of With Gangrene Edges, Howls Of Ebb's 3 tracks conjure up bizarre demons from poisonous and metamorphic dimensions too abstruse and disgusting to be grasped in full by our small minds. On their side, Khthoniik Cerviiks dive into what they call the Voiidwarp, a psychic death metal vortex assaulting the senses, annihilating reason and obliterating existence. In 5 stages, the band reaches a climax of psychotic ferocity many and many times, transfiguring every melody into a dreadful cacophony. And when the prophetic third eye opens, they are ready to mercilessly stab it."

Ooh...
I'm going through I, Voidhanger's Bandcamp as I spake and I didn't find Howls Of Ebb as enganging as they were upon initial reaction. Lots of chugging of the same riffs/sstructrure and not much attention to variation to grab hold of unfortunately..

I may not have the largest collection but I certainly have the absolute best

Initial reaction of a few songs or full spin of their albums? I haven't even found a single riff or chugging thats boring or out of place in their entire catalog so far.

Revisiting their catalogue since last year has made me less impressed now as I found it to be more dried out, especially the production on both albums. The repetitive rhythms were the only spotlight when coming back to them but it seemed like that was their only capibility..

Some of their rhythms and percussion does indeed get repeated over the songs as I feel it is their signature sound over midpaced parts. I never get bored of it personally though as I find it is a part of their signature sound.

Last thing to want is to get turned off by something you last time really enjoyed. Its a strange feeling to behold a musical change of heart.
