Roadburn 2018 - Weedeater, Mizmor, Sannhet And More Confirmed

With tickets going on sale next week (Thursday, October 19th), the Roadburn 2018 organizers have unveiled a new crop of announcements today. That includes Cult Of Luna performing their entire Mariner collaboration with Julie Christmas, Weedeater (playing their seminal 2007 album, God Luck And Good Speed in full), Sannhet and Mizmor, to name a few.

Latest confirmations: Bong-Ra, Phuture Doom, Servants Of The Apocalyptic Goat (Future Occultism), Grave Pleasures, Cult Of Luna with Julie Christmas, Weedeater, Mizmor, Greenmachine, Årabrot, Furia (POL), GosT, Hell, Maggot Heart, Occvlta, Sannhet, Thaw, Uniform and Wrekmeister Harmonies.

With Mariner, originally planned as a studio-only venture, the Swedish-American collaborators were coaxed into playing out last year as they performed a handful of European shows. The demand for North American shows warranted a short tour this past summer, and now they look to add a full stop to the Mariner experience, with a final performance at Roadburn 2018.

In the case of Oregonian doom artist Mizmor, the 2016 release Yodh was a high water mark for American doom in the past few years and the album release show at Migration Fest was the first and only Mizmor show to date. That changes at Roadburn 2018 as Mizmor will be rising from its slumber to perform Yodh live in its entirety for the first time as the sole European date in 2018

Already announced: Godspeed You! Black Emperor playing two sets, Converge (performing You Fail Me, and The Dusk In Us in full), Hugsjá (a collaboration between Ivar Bjørnson and Einar Selvik), Panopticon playing two sets, The Heads, Bell Witch (playing two sets, including Mirror Reaper), Ex Eye, Igorrr, Sangre De Muerdago, Aerial Ruin.

Mizmor's definitely the one announcement here that has me the most excited, but other than that.... eh, I'll probably still try to go, but haven't really had any announcements that have seriously made me shoot my load and do backflips just yet. I'm sure some are coming though

For me is Cult Of Luna + Julie. Specially if it's the last one.

Thaw and Mizmor are the more exciting ones for me in this announcement. As I said in the SB, there is no way I can afford going to Roadburn, but in a couple years I definitely will be.

Not really exciting to me so far. In previous years, the line-up was better I think.

But there's still a lot more to be announced of course.

I know the lineup will be amazing even if for now it's "just good".

However, they really got my attention with this:

New venue with 1200 capacity? Exactly what the festival REALLY needs.

Shame it is a ten minute walk away. I have been in that venue due to the memorial that was held there for Bidi's death (of Bidi Booking and worked a lot with Roadburn and Walter of Raodburn) and the sound wasn't good there at the time. But that could have had to do with my state of mind that day due to the memorial.
