Belzebubs - New Single And Video Released

Belzebubs have released a new single from their eagerly awaited studio album Pantheon Of The Nightside Gods, due on April 26th via Century Media Records. Accompanied also by a video edit, "Cathedrals of Mourning" provides a foretaste of the band's new progressive melodic black sound.

"We shot the flick on location in an old monastery, snuggly shrouded by the grim Norwegian mountains. Beautiful place with grand views over the fjords and all. A bit of a pity we're not exactly welcome back, I guess?" lead guitarist Obesyx briefly comments.

I've seen the video several times already, but I still am in awe. Brilliant idea for a story to tell in the video, great animation and of course rocking music! But I have to admit that what I really like the most about this video (and also the one published last year) are those little Easter eggs, like e.g. "Belzebutt" written on a butt of one of band members when sliding down the hill, "Press any key to continue" written on a keyboard display, corpse-paint on the snowball etc. Some of them literally made me burst into laughter.

I can't escape the feeling that at least one or two members of labelmates Insomnium are involved.
The vocals are all too familiar and the core team just has to be a bunch of melo-deathers contributing their skills, rather than a trve black metal outfit proving comedic talent.

Yea, I have the same feeling. Growls are similar to those known from Insomnium. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3yY6R_1MXd0&t=1m38s I am 90% sure that vocals (and bass tracks) are performed by Nilo.

Yep, he's quite certainly involved in it. Besides the vocals, it sounds like a black metal Insomnium.

The track is great. The video is probably going to end up being my favourite for 2019.
