Pale Divine - Album Coming In June, Launch First Track

Pennsylvania doom mainstays Pale Divine have released "Tyrants & Pawns (Easy Prey)", a song from their sixth full-length album, Consequence Of Time. The album is due June 26th via Cruz Del Sur Music. It was recorded during late 2019/early 2020 with producer Richard Whittaker. The cover artwork was handled by Brian Tutlo.

"The song is about not being mentally manipulated," says drummer Darin McCloskey. "It's about thinking for yourself. Obviously, though, it's broad enough for people to draw their own conclusions, but to me, it's about that. Obviously, the lyrics fit comfortably within the current political context but I don't want to say it's about that...because it's not necessarily. I think people will conclude that it is, though. That's fine - I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from making their own investment and identifying with it in their own way."

"To me, the theme of the song deals with questioning your news/source of information and what the intentions of that source may be," weighs in vocalist/guitarist Dana Ortt.

"Tyrants & Pawns" is an observation of mass manipulation through a biased media," adds vocalist/guitarist Greg Diener.
