Coronatus - Writing Songs, Confirm Line-Up Changes
German gothic metal purveyors Coronatus are currently busy with writing new songs for their next studio album, the follow-up to 2019's The Eminence Of Nature. Furthermore, they've also confirmed changes within the ranks on the position of a vocalist. Mareike Makosch, who parted ways with the band in late 2020, has been replaced by Moni Francis.
Massage from Coronatus regarding the new band member: "Keep the faith! The Corona crisis will not last forever! Whilst we are still very busy with writing new songs for the next album, we are proud to present a new face, and a new voice of the Coronatus family to you! Her name is Moni Francis (www.moni-francis.de). She is and has been a completely professional singer for decades! Her numerous successful bands and projects belong to all kinds of music. She works as a vocal coach and teacher as well. With Coronatus, she will return to the metal & gothic scene, with which she had already been familiar with in the beginning of her career! She will take over mainly the darker female voice parts in the alto range along with Katharina who will perform the soprano parts again. This is very exciting for all of us, since we never had such a deep and expressive female voice in our music. This surely will enrich our musical spectrum to a new level!"
On parting ways with Mareike, the band said: "Mareike Makosch has been a very good friend to us for over a decade now. She sang on four of the Coronatus albums and performed at many of our concerts in the past. However, over the course of the last year, Mareike and Coronatus made a mutual decision to look for a new rock voice. Life is about change, which also means that musical preferences and circumstances change over time. Recently, Coronatus' and Mareike's musical expectations just weren't a good fit anymore. We can't stress enough that we are still very good friends and Mareike will forever be part of the Coronatus family. That also means that it is very likely that you are going to hear her again on future Coronatus productions, e.g. contributing to the choir parts or whatever else might come up. Times change, our music changes, however, friendship remains!"
