Long-running German thrashers Hate Squad have recently shared a sad news in regards of the passing of their long-time bassist Bauke de Groot. Bauke joined the band back in 1995.

Statement from Hate Squad as follows: "It is with a heavy heart that we have to inform you that our long-time bass player, friend and brother Bauke de Groot has unexpectedly passed away. We cannot even believe what just happened, we simply lack the words.

"Bauke was an integral part of the band Hate Squad since 1995 and has also made a well known name through his own labels Swell Creek Records and Violent Creek Records in the HC/Indie and Thrash Metal area and will also leave a big gap there especially through his commitments in the promotion of newcomer bands.

"Bauke was the type of person where you say: "Too bad that there are not more people like that. People who always have an open ear, are always willing to help, are committed to others and simply love what they do."

"Our thoughts and hearts are with Bauke's wife Joni and with his family and all his friends in this difficult hour. Bauke, we miss you terribly."
