This album is gonna be amazing!

Two standouts for me:
A) How bass stands outs in the mix
B) Doesn't it sound a bit Childrenofbodom-ish? less proggy, more neoclassical...

Same, I hear more melodics in a style of a CoB

On the one hand, yaaaay, on the other, no pls I like my Obscura "the way it was". We'll see how the rest turns out. It does sound like Steffen gave more free way to Christian in composition and they are just having fun with it.
That being said, the good old CoB sound is sorely missed these days.

To me It sounds like they wanna reach a wider audience. Not a bad thing per se, the songs are good, but old Obscura was just something different.
Plus, Nuclear Blast is putting a lot of effort in promoting the band
This album is gonna be their most selling record, for sure

Dunno, looks like it's gonna be a varied album, some songs are gonna sound like classic Obscura, others are gonna be more accesible and probably a third group is gonna be somewhere in the middle.

To me that's a good thing but I get that some just like it the way it was... We'll se when we get the whole thing.

BTW the less exciting thing in this song is Bjorn, feels kinda forced...
