Mark Lanegan - Dies At 57

Legendary vocalist Mark Lanegan, famous for his band Screaming Trees and his prolific solo career, has died at the of 57. Lanegan was a member of Queens Of The Stone Age between 2001 and 2005, and contributed to their 2013 album …Like Clockwork. He also provided what would be some of his final works as a guest vocalist on Cult Of Luna's "Inside Of A Dream" song (off their 2021 EP The Raging River) and "The Music Becomes A Skull" (off The Armed's 2021 album Ultrapop), as well as lead vocals on Lamb Of God guitarist Mark Morton's 2019 track "Axis". And that's just scratching the surface of Lanegan's incredible, storied career. Rest in peace.

He lived a lot longer than some of his buddies, however.

Great singer, saw him perform with Screaming Trees in Sydney in 1995 and again with QoTSA in the early 2000s. His memoir 'Sing Backwards and Weep' is well worth a read and details the extreme life he led. I believe he also wrote another memoir late last year about getting very sick with Covid-19, spending a few weeks in hospital in a coma. Not sure how he died but very sad news.
