Wow, Zakk and the Doom Crew are completely ignoring the Northeast, from which he hails from. The NJ BLS chapter will not be pleased, but can we blame him, considering the state of our disunion?

What is this for those of us who are not U.S. Affairs-savvy?

Zakk Wylde is from New Jersey, which I only know because I too will be proud to have left the place of my birth, the Godless, Gardenless State for better pastures one day.

This is a side note, but since you asked for U.S. affairs, I shall not deny your curiosity. Most of the populated parts of NJ are a continuing urban-suburban stretch of highways between New York and Philadelphia, which are also smack in the middle of the NE seaboard from Boston to DC, and so serves as the Northeast's main immigration hub, which is hugely overpopulated and riddled with poverty in the areas directly outside the large metros, (The upper class like their servant labor cheap, and plentifully renewable.) Many come seeking to live in NYC but find it is too expensive, and/or oppressive, and spread further south, for anything North is either too cold and snowy or even more expensive.
Many who decide to settle near the city often do so in New Jersey, and are of the usual hard working, folk seeking a "better life" for their family, and do so usually in New Jersey, displacing a population that is eager to leave when their new generations decide that high taxes, corrupt government, and high population density just isn't the place to properly raise children while also rising above the lower middle class. I'm sure you can see how more time spent working to raise income negatively affects the time it takes to culture and educate children into being wholesome, independent thinkers, rather than state-raised, consumer/wage slaves, which are usually what remains in the Godless, Gardenless State of NJ.

SO Zakk Wylde and the rest of the BLS probably have their own reasons for shrugging off NJ, but I still can't blame him, even though he will be missed.
