Axel Rudi Pell - Covers Album Title Revealed & Message

The title for the upcoming Cover album will be "Diamonds Unlocked" and will be released by SPV Sept./Oct. this year. The band will be in the studio starting next week on April 2nd.

Also today, Axel Rudi Pell has posted the following message on his official web site:

"We will record 11 songs, 10 cover versions and 1 self written Intro. I saw a few song suggestions from the fans here in the guestbook... but, hey... this will be a record containing songs which hadn't been covered much. Also it is not my intention to record songs from other "real" Metal bands (with 1 or 2 exceptions), because the songs ARE already "metal". We wanna show how songs from other music genres could sound when a Hardrock or Classicrock Band is covering em. That doesn't mean that the record will be strange sounding....no way !!! It will be typically ARPish and you´ll not be disappointed, believe me !!!!"

You can't even get easy money when you're playing metal/hard rock. So how do you explain your comment? Not to be mean or anything, but just idiots think metal/hard rock bands play/change their style to get more money, or as in this case, play none-metal cover songs, it's just for fun they do it, or else you wouldn't have that much metal that exists today, this is not the hip-hop/pop/R 'n' B scene! You can't get big money what ever you do as a metal/hard rock band...

easy money? come on - this isnt Metallica or HIM here where zounds and zounds of mindless 'fans' will purchase ANYTHING the band releases..
Axel Rudi Pell has been going 18 years since the release of his first album and he is only just starting to get some big recognition outside of his home town..
he is hardly going to become a millionaire from the release of this one covers album

is it such a crime for a man to record some songs of artists he loves? its your choice whether you buy it or not - he isnt making you buy it!

Not when they are released by Axel !! Just listen to "Forever young" or "When a blind man cries" or the best cover Axel has done. I'm talking about Rainbow's Temple of The King !!

Later, like or dislike that it is another thing....

And to adapt titles to another musical style is not still easy....for a good result

Er...I'd rather hear a new album of course but whatever. Good luck with them and I hope they choose some good songs to cover.
