Epicedium, a German grindcore/death meal crew, have shared sad news regarding the passing of vocalist Thomas "Tommy" Karl. He was 37 years old. Thomas was part of the band since 2009.

Statement from the band: ''Dear Friends and Fans, unfortunately we have to announce that our friend and singer Tommy passed away. Though to his strength of fighting he couldn't win against the strong disease. We wish his wife and family all the best to process this cruel time.

"Tommy joined us in 2009 and his performance was always 100% live and in the studio. Aside from that, he was the best friend you can imagine. We are very sad and we miss you."
