Viogression - Former Member Passed Away

According to Viogression drummer Duane Timlin's statement (via his Facebook profile), the band's former bassist (1989-1991) and guitarist (1992-1994) Bryan Jaeger passed away. He was 52 years old.

Duane Timlin posts: ''Not this again! My day is ruined by this news. I will miss you old friend. I already missed playing music with you. And did everything I could to fix that. As I said last week hug your friends more. This really sucks.''

Former drummer Jef Jaeger explains on his private Facebook: ''Bryan Mark Jaeger, age 52, passed away early on April 5, 2023. He was born on November 3rd, 1970. He is survived by his sons Maxx and Dorian, his father, Ken Jaeger, his twin brother Barry, and his brothers Paul Jaeger (Dawn, daughter Olivia), and Jef Jaeger (Michelle). He is preceded in death by his mother Ruth Ann Jaeger (passed on 11/14/2015).

"Bryan loved his boys, and spent time with them often. He became experienced in a number of vocations, took pride in his work, and often excelled wherever he was employed. Bryan loved watching movies. He had seen more of them, and a greater variety of them than most people would ever conceive of, and could readily quote memorable lines from many of them. He also read many books, and was a fan of drama, horror, fantasy, satire, and especially humor. He was a gifted artist with a very unique style ranging from strange to surreal to dark, and went on to illustrate album covers, various other media, and became a well-known tattoo artist in the greater Milwaukee area for many years - his customers famously knew him as ‘Buki’. Bryan had a passion for music: he was a talented guitarist and bass player, also composing both lyrics and music on many original music recordings over the years. He was a member of Viogression, Medusa Oblongada, Onebodytoomany, and Flow, all of which produced studio recordings and performed live. He had many friends and fans, and was very well-known and respected in the Milwaukee death metal scene and abroad. His family, many friends, and fans will miss him very much. He will live on through his art and the memories of those who knew and loved him…"

Where do i begin to tell you about the man I loved? Why his brother fell the need to exclude his last 9 years of love and family and friendship is beyond me but know this: I loved him with every breath and I mourn his absence with every waking moment. He was my life. He was my love and my shield and so much more than words can express. He was my best friend and it’s a constant waking and sleeping struggle not to join him because since I lost my love, my Bryan the man no one knew but me, I find it impossible to reason with myself anymore to live without him. I am bereft. I beg God to either take me or bring him back to me because I have no life left without Bryan. My love. I hope you saw him. I pray you breathed in his very existence because he was unlike any other man known to us.

Bryan is survived by Ann Marie, Jake, Sarah, Theresa and David, Chris, Kristen, Taylor, Anthony, and Beverly. He is achingly missed and mourned by Kate, Jeff, Korts, Angela, Teresa, Jim, Kirsten, Richard, David, his angel Lucy, and every single one of our friends and family. David and Theresa, my parents, light a candle for you weekly my love. Mom and dad, and Chris and Melissa and Teresa and Jim, they still hold me when your loss overtakes my will to go on. You are in every inch of our home baby. Your touch is everywhere. I won’t move because you’re my happily ever after. I will reach for your hand when my heart finally breaks for good. I want everyone who sees this to know Bryan was the entire world. He was a light and I was blessed to stand within that light for awhile.

Auden said it best

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message 'He is Dead'.
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now; put out every one,
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun,
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.
