Timo Tolkki - Gets Suspended Prison Sentence For Fraud And Forgery
According to 'Seiska' and 'Helsingin Sanomat', former Stratovarius guitarist Timo Tolkki has been sentenced in Helsinki District Court to 45 days' suspended imprisonment for fraud and forgery. More can be read below.
The verdict was handed down on September 26. In 2020, Tolkki unjustifiably increased the subsistence allowance by more than 3,000€. Tolkki had hidden his income and the funds in his bank account from Kela. In addition, Tolkki had falsified the account statements he had delivered to Kela.
With fake bank statements, Tolkki also concealed his stay abroad. HS interviewed Tolkki in 2020, when he was living in Mexico.
According to the district court, Tolkki had admitted his actions and said that the period of the crimes was a bad time for him. Tolkki has to pay back 3063€ of the subsistence allowance he received. In addition, he must pay a crime victim fee of 80€. The judgement is not yet final.
