Led Zeppelin - To Reunite For One Night Only

Classic Rock has just announced after much speculation that Led Zeppelin will reunite for a one-off special show at the O2 Arena in London on Monday, November 26.

The message on the Classic Rock website procedes:

"Tickets cost £125 each and will be available 'by ballot'. More details as we have it.

The bill also includes Pete Townshend, Bill Wyman & The Rhythm Kings, Foreigner and Paolo Nutini.

Founding members Jimmy Page (guitar), Robert Plant (vocals) and John Paul Jones (bass) will be joined by Jason Bonham, son of the late John Bonham, on drums.

The one-off performance has just been announced via a handout given to attendees at a press conference in the Vue cinema at the O2 complex. It's a memorial gig in honour of Ahmet Ertegun, the co-founder and longstanding chairman of Atlantic Records.

Ertegun, the man who signed Zep to Atlantic, died in December 2006 at age 83.

Profits from the show will go to Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund which provides students with annual scholarships to universities in the UK, USA and Turkey."

To read the full message visit the Classic Rock page at this location.

My dad was right I thought it was just a rumour. Well, good for these old folks, but it is so unfair that they are going to do just one gig, they should do a world tour instead.

There won't be any chances to go see them again. They havn't played together in 19 years, and by the time another 19 years goes by these guys will be pensioners.

What a big feeling it must be for Jason to play all his father's tracks along with the classic line-up. I envy him, I want to play drums for Led Zep too

It has been ages since I first heard that rumor of a reunited Led with the son of Bonham on drums. I think that we should also consider the possibility that after playing together they would like to keep on going. I wonder if that would turn out to be a good idea.

I fdon't think you've got a chance. All 20,000 tickets are sold out. There were 20,000,000 requests for tickets.

Depends on which paper/news report you read/see. I never trust T.V these days anyway. The highlight story of the night is always a dog on a surfboard, while a cure for cancer gets a 5 second mention and is generally quite poorly reported. However the band disbanded in 1980 so that means that at a maximum they havn't played together for 27 years. However Page and Plant did tour together (last show 1998). if you count this as a Led Zep show (I don't as there are still surviving members missing) then it was 9 years ago.

Either way we know what I mean.

im 100% certain that this concert will suck big time btw (they already sucked back in the aforementioned page and plant shows in the 90s) but it would be nice to say "i saw led zeppelin live". Oh well, Alice Cooper is coming to these parts soon anyway, so Ill just go see him instead

Btw I saw the Page & Plant show in the 90s in Rotterdam, and lemme guarantee you that absolutely DIDN'T suck, it was great. Especially the addition of an Egyptian and Dutch orchestra worked brilliantly.

Can you give us, the other Metalstormers, a source?

If not, we'll just have to disregard what you said.
