Cavalera Conspiracy - Two Songs Available For Download

The following was written in a promotional publication by Roadrunner Records:

"The wait is over. The time is now. Many said it would never happen, that Max and Iggor Cavalera, the Brazilian brothers and visionaries that formed the groundbreaking Sepultura would reunite to make music together again. Despite having spent 12 years apart, the inescapable fact remains: Max and Iggor share blood and an unparalleled sonic kinesis. Hence, the Cavalera Conspiracy was born. While the Cavalera Conspiracy and their debut "Inflikted" may seem like the closest we'll get to a Sepultura reunion, make no mistake. The Cavalera Conspiracy is its own maniacal, untameable beast with its own set of rules.
Two tracks from the album, the title track "Inflikted" and first single "Sanctuary" are now up and doing the rounds at roadrunnerrecords.com.au website. Just go to the news section, follow the link and decide for yourself...in time it will become obvious that its only the music, not the rumours, that speaks the loudest."

Both songs are also available for download at the band's MySpace page.

"Inflikted" will be released internationally on March 24th and in the U.S.A. on March 25th.

I must say, I'm the guy that posted the fucking news and even I feel dissappointed.

Come on guys, be honest - it's more of the same shit. If you own the Sepultura records and the Soulfly records, this band are entirely pointless. After all these years....these guys don't like to try anything even slightly flirting with the outside possibility of doing something new.

So if you're younger or haven't heard much of Sepultura/Soulfly, I think you'l love these guys and find them kick-ass. If I had a son i'd be buying him this album -

They are to Sepultura as A Perfect Circle is to Tool

Yeah, exactly. A Perfect Circle is better than the newest Tool album, just like Cavalera Conspiracy is better than most of the newer Sepultura albums.

Cavalera Conspiracy... So the Cavalera brothers were behind 9/11? Is that what it's implying? Anyway, I really should listen to the new songs they have out.

Thought.
A Dying God
i thought half the metal world already has this album by now. It will be added to my collection the day it comes out, it is so thrash.

also that APC::Tool analogy was terrible. This is what Sepultura would sound like today if the Cavalera's were still in it and more experimental/conceptual with their sound.

i'm sorry...maybe I didn't clarify - when i talk about Sepultura i MEAN the one and only original Sepultura.

Cavalera Conspiracy is to the Original Sepultura as A Perfect Circle is to Tool - i.e it is still powerful and certainly maintaining some accessible merits, but on the whole still lacking the maturity and genuine resonance of an old Sepultura song.

Hence why I said i'd buy my son this album - it's more relevant to now times, perhaps....but is it just rehashing a metal combination that was already done right the first time...and so long ago?

YES
