I wanted to hear your opinions on Iron Maiden's guitarists. Which one is your favorite one?
My personal favorite is Adrian Smith. I find his musical style to be quite versatile, his solos and his riffs are equally breathtaking. He is also probably one of my favorite guitar players of all times.

Hahaha, why would someone care about those who didn't play on any album? They would get 0 votes. The only one I could accept being on the list is Stratton for actually playing on the first album.

I've listened to Maiden constantly for 7 years and own their whole discography. So yes I know their riffs. And to bring in AIK just shows your desperation and lack of arguments.

I hate Iron Maiden videos, they seriously suck. The other one is just a boring live performance from Iron Maiden's most boring era. They're still one of my favourite bands. You can't love everything from a band which have been going on for 33 years.

I agree that Iron Maiden music videos suck. However, I find videos of their concert to be among the best ever.

Don't talk shit, please. When you're saying that Maiden's riffs suck, you're comparing them to, what, Metallica? Can't tell for sure, but you probably are comparing them to some thrash metal artist.
This band shouldn't have powerful riffs, their greatest weapon is pure melody, that is basically what NWOBHM is mostly about.

OK, I agree that was unnecessary bringing out AIK - I take that back, sorry Warman! But still, Maiden is not my cup of tea! I think they relate too much to their history and they don't effect me so much like other more revoltutionary metal bands do. I simply want it louder and heavier! For crying out loud - It's not a holy cow we're talking about! Or is it?? I simply don't get metalgoosebumps with Maiden!

Am I the only person who finds it ironic that you're saying Maiden isn't heavy enough for you, but you like Slipknot? Maybe that's just me. By the way, not being heavy enough isn't the only reason you don't like Maiden is it? I see you say their relate too much to their "history." What exactly does that mean?

They are all great, but Adrian is my fav or some reason. Dave Murrey is a close second. Jannik is also pretty good, but the other two are better. Dennis Stratton did not really fit in the band all that well, he is pretty decent but his solos are not as great as any of the others. His timing was also a little off at times.

I voted Janick cause he is so great in concerts but I like Adrian Smith more... I think no one voted Dave cause he is the ugliest

i know that adrian is a great songwriter and janick is so fast but my favourite is dave 'cos he put so much love playing the guitar

Strange, Adrian wins, yet the most things are written by Murray. So my vote goes for Dave Murray, although Adrian comes close on 2nd place

I also think murray wil get the votes, but Adrian Smith is winning! I voted for Smith because i also like what he didi outside iron maiden, very hard rock!

Murray, Murray I always liked his style of playing and his enthusiasm. And I also think he looks great in spandex!

I think they are all great guitar players, especially Smith and Murray because they've been part of the band for so long so I have mixed feelings about Gers, although I think he fits the mood perfeclty.

i voted for Smith. you can hear it in their sound when he left in 1992 and when he came back. there weren't as many awesome riffs as before.

iron maiden riffs suck? that makes me laugh cominf from someone who's favourite album is reign in blood every song sounds the same the longest track is only 3:30 minutes i bet u that slayer produced that album in half an hour

Voted for Dave Murray...I prefer him more than any guitarist who had ever played for Iron Maiden. I quite like his solos also...

Adrian is the main guy who wrote 2 minutes to midnight(and some other stuff), so he wins imo

also you can tell when he left, they don't have as many hooks in their 90's albums, ok except Fear of the Dark and another handful of songs, they don't sound like the awesome stuff from the 80's (hell, not one bad album in 10 years)

I think I'll have to go with Smith since he has written the best songs out of those three.
