really I don't listen to death metal cuz I cannot stand with it excepting some bands, I can diference schrie from growl but between growls they are very similar, there isn't a big difference as in clean vocals is...

So you're looking for the best voice in DM, are you not? Åkerfeldt offcourse.

What do you think bout demilich's vocals? They are pretty deep and massive.
Imo Chuck never growled in Death, these are just harsh vocals...

Though they are far from my favorite band, I had to go with Opeth as well. The perfect example of Akerfeldt's growls is the song Demon Of The Fall, and by God what a voice! I also watched a video of them playing that song live and he sounded just as great. Arch Enemy is second for me simply because they have a female growler who's better than about 90% of male growlers out there

Opeth has good growls, Arch enemy too (that girl is awesome) but i love the ones of Asis Nasseri from Haggard

I voted for Hypocrisy, but not for Peter Tägtgren (he actually screams, doesn't growl), but for their first vocalist Masse Bromberg (now Magnus Caligula in Dark Funeral), that demostrated in "Penetralia" and "Osculum Obscenum" that he's the best Death Metal growler EVER

it is difficult as hell...Mikael as a great voice as he can combine great growls and clean singing, Peter Tagtgren has some great growls too...so does Nergal, Karl Sanders, Angela Gossow, Mikael Stanne..Anders Friden...it looks like he is whining sometimes but it has something in it xD..

Actually, Akerfeldt's growls can be split into two catergories. In the earlier Opeth albums they were a more blackish style and now theyre far more basest and conventional of death metal. Also, Nile had 3 growlers so maybe one needs to distinguish between Karl, Dallas and Jon? Just thought I'd be a pain and point them out.

Man, this is pretty hard. Dan Swano has some good growling, Karls Sanders and Chris Barnes too. As for those on the list, Schuldiner and Akerfeldt are mind blowing, Gossow is great for a girl. Aaand, the new Psycroptic dude Jason Pepiatt has wild scream/growl things. I'm sure there are others I can't think of right now. I'm not going to even mention black metal because it would be too hard.

My favorite from the list is Akerfeldt, just because of how strong they are. Well, actually my favorite is Dying Fetus but I don't know how natural those are.

Of course Akerfeldt, their growls are deeper and more aggresive, maybe I prefer the voice in the first 3 discs, but he still have the power of his voice, what about Amon Amarth? Johan Hegg have a great voice too...

I vote Mikael Akerfeldt from the available options, though I also rank Vorph (Samael) and Morten Veland (Sirenia/Tristania) alongside him.

Nile is my band and always will be, but I had to take Nergal from Behemoth. He may not be the best vocalist ever, but you won't hear many do what he does.

My favorite are the two former Bloodbath vocalists Akerfeldt and Tägtgren. I voted for Mikael Akerfeldt becase he has one of the strongest most distinguishable growls also they are really deep. Another thing that distinguishes Akerfeldt from the other vocalists is that his clean singing is even better then his growls. When playing live Mikaels growls are just as good as on the album. Peter Tägtgren also has a very unique amazing almost rusty sounding voice but I didn't vote him because it's more of a scream than a growl.

Quite hard, but I chose Nile. Sanders' hollow (in a good way) growls just chill my spine, and also Toler-Wade's angrier growls are great (and of course all others who growl in the band are good).

Another good one is of course Åkerfeldt of Opeth & ex-Bloodbath, very majestic growls. Same could be said of Nergal's (Behemoth) growls. In fact I like every option in this poll except Arch Enemy. Angela's growls are IMO horrible.

My favorites are Dani Filth, Max Cavalera, Steve Tucker and Mikael Stanne. So I voted for "Other", I could've voted for Dark Tranquillity but no ... Stanne is not my absolute favorite growler.

...i voted for death but i think pitbulls in the nursery vocals have amazing growls, maybe my favorites, you should check them out, they're quite impressive...

Indeed, John Tardy has the most inhumane vocals of all time. The sounds that man can emit are out of this world.

I like Peter Tgagtrens voice the most out of all the people there, Especially when he does that high pitch alien like deathcry. but it was a struggle between sanders voice and behemoths growls, other than that I think that dark tranquility, in flames, and arch enemy has weak growls. Deaths growls are mediocre, plus Gossows voice is given out, just listen to doomsday machine, her voice is wrecked.

Mikael aferdeit is pretty good, but I would want to see Dan Swano on vocals in bloodbath, now that guy can growl.

I voted Behemoth, God I love his growls, I try to scream along, it's pretty insane
The vote would have been a lot more difficult if Cradle Of Filth would have joined in, I believe no one can compare to Dani's voice...

I voted other. My vote for best growl goes to Paul Kuhr of Novembers Doom. To me, he just sounds so majestic and powerful, and for some reason I can just "feel" the emotion of the music through his voice.
