Being an inspirational oeuvre for many bands, Kill 'Em All is the debut album of the most successful band of metal music, the first official package after some arguments among band members and finally Dave Mustaine's dramatic departure.

The songs are super fast and neoteric in many cases. Immediately by listening to this record, the punk roots come into view. The riffs are really heavy, yet raw and unpolished, which means they had a long way to go in terms of musicianship at that time. Solos are performed insanely fast; however, this acceleration causes quite a lot of bum notes in many songs, which are obtrusive. Bass lines are stunning and surely enhancing the quality of the record. Hetfield's voice is fairly squeaky and no way near a qualified singer. Arpeggiated guitar chords in "Phantom Lord" would be definitely worth mentioning.

The history of the best Metal band began with this cd. In this album the bases of the thrash metal appeared for first time. By this time Metallica was surely the fastest band of the world, even faster than Venom [precursors of Black Metal style]. In this cd Metallica finds an own style which some years later will bring them to the top of Metal.

Masterpiece indeed, though I wouldn't classify this album as a pure thrash, but more like speed/thrash metal.

Whether or not this was the first thrash metal album, there is no doubt that it is one of the most influential thrash albums, and one of the best. Every song here is thrashing perfection.

Boring...

This album boring?

Yeah Metallica is one of the bands i started listening to when i was 14 and that got me into metal, that was like 9 years ago and I never liked Kill'em All. Apart from a few parts in some songs I think it's monotonous and noisy. The only albums i really like are Ride The Lightning , Master Of Puppets and a few songs from The Black Album...

This album boring?

I'm not a big Metallica fan... but seriously. I'd call this anything but boring.

I'm assuming he's one of those people that listens to Evile and then gets mad at Metallica for ripping them off.

This is EXACTLY what I wanted to write originally. Well, judging by the guy's favorite bands, he is into the whole Hard Rock/Power Metal thing, so maybe he should not have commented on a thrash metal classic in the first place. dunno.

Meh, if he gave it an honest effort and found it boring then he has every right to say so.

That just means we'll disagree with him. And maybe he's trying to expand his tastes - in which case we should encourage him by recommending thrash albums that maybe he wouldn't find boring based on his tastes (like a contemporary Artillery album).

noooooo. no contemporary Artillery although, he would probably like it indeed (Metal Church is among favorites).

If one band is boring it's contemporary Artillery. And comparing them to Metal Church is blasphemy, even Metal Church at its worst and hence most boring
