Defeated Sanity - Founding Member Has Died
Wolfgang Teske, founding member and former guitarist of German technical brutal death metal outfit Defeated Sanity, has passed away yesterday, September 12th. This was confirmed by his son, Defeated Sanity's drummer, Lille Gruber, on MySpace. Teske was 57 years old.

Written by [user id=291] on 13.09.2010 at 16:59 Don't know if he had a previous band, but the Defeated Sanity were founded in 1994 by Wolfgang Teske and his son Lille Gruber, so this was a father/son project, and obviously the father had to be going into the forties. Probably this is the unique case of a father/son band in Metal, and that it worked for so long tells us good things about their relationship. It's not hard to imagine a father and a son this close discovering new sounds toghether and ending up on Death Metal. Hail to them! (Yeah, I know, I'm rather nostalgic today, full of mellow stories in my head.)

Here are bits of his last recordings in his other band, Neue Aera. He really was an outstanding musician - here he does drums in an improvised jazz band. The song, Hillbillix, is pretty cool.
