I'd like to know what the hell Jari has been doing to keep himself alive these last few years. Can't image he'd be getting much income from Wintersun considering the lack of live shows and albums....

Every time I see an update from Wintersun, I think "ok, it's going to be yet another message saying the album will be next year" and I always win.. if only I was this lucky in a lottery!

Wintersun is the best, thats all. I saw this post on Facebook and wondered if it would pop up here. I can't wait!!

Man, here we go again. This is just giving false hope. So many people are going to start whining the moment they post-pone it yet again because Jari's dog gets hit by a car or something.

Did you know that the vast majority of metal musicians actually cannot live off their music?

Why did Jari leave Ensiferum just to be part of a phantom band like Wintersun, which actually sounds very much similar to his years with Ensiferum??? Hope he'd kicked Petri out for a couple Ensiferum albums until he finally decides to resurrect Wintersun.

Jari is blowing it. how can anyone have faith in this band anymore? its been 6+ years since their debut. they always promise these dates yet never deliver. I love the band and would love to hear the new album but Im tired of being dissapointed, Im not gonna get excited for it until theirs some legitimate evidence of its completion and release.

I gotta agree with you on that. Been wondering the same thing myself.

I actually like Ensiferum with Petri. I'd rather have Kai Hahto back in Rotten Sound though.

The whole point of metal should be to avoid "scenes" anyway. I would rather have Jari take his time on the new album. I don't see the point of criticism when we are the consumers and we demand perfection. If you don't like Wintersun don't bother criticizing how long the album is taking.

Dropping our expectations for Wintersun should be a given. It has been delayed so much that we can't expect anything concrete from them. But that doesn't mean we devalue the band. We simply drop our high expectations. Wintersun stays Wintersun, and our expectations for a future release lower, that's it. I don't see how this makes Wintersun any worse.

As far as the "hype" is concerned, I've never felt any hype or seen any from Wintersun ever. Probably because I don't spend much time on forums or whatever, but i honestly don't think Wintersun is a kind of fan-boy band. If you want fan-boys go to Kamelot's forum and see all the girls praising "Poetry for the poisoned". Wintersun fans are music fans and always have been.

The album's delays, progress reports, and news like today's, serve only the fans. It's for us, who like the music. Feel free to criticize music, but do not criticize a band based on news and album details.

I guess some people just are different from the way I feel about Wintersun and that's fine. For me, I like Wintersun's music, their album is the best album I know of. Because of this I don't mind supporting the band for as long as it takes for them to make a new album.

MEHH! ,, let me predict the future: just before the date came so close , a band update: Sorry folks we need to cancel all our dates, and put the album due to unpredicted problems with instruments, and they back to announce dates for 2012, but this time nature help them and put end for the world

I do! Just because Cynic released Focus and Traced In Air 15 years apart does not mean that they are not an important band. Both those albums are monumental to me. As is Wintersun's debut. When Time is released, I'm totally going to buy it. Until then, there's so much music to listen to from so many bands, that it's not hard at all to wait.

Lets hope this will be as awesome as the other one and really be released!!! Damn great news!

But, Chinese Democracy took 14 years to be released and we've been waiting for "Time" (lol) only 6 years now. 4 shows? lol that is not a lot of shows for a living-dead band like Wintersun. I hope these guys have good jobs to pay their rents.

I agree. 4 shows is not a sign of huge enthousiasm, it's more like a "sign of life". Maybe it's just a stunt by the record company executives to see if people are still into it, whether they should be going forward with this project or not.
