Trivium - New Song Online

Boy oh boy, "In Waves", a brand-new track from Florida metallers Trivium has leaked on the interwebs and can be streamed in the YouTube clip below for the time being.

"In Waves" comes off the band's upcoming new as-yet-untitled album, tentatively due on August 9th through Roadrunner Records.

The album was recorded at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida with the production/mixing team of Colin Richardson (Bullet For My Valentine, Slipknot) and Martin "Ginge" Ford, along with engineer Carl Bown.

The clean vocals definitely ruined what could have been a very good song. Way too boybandish sounding....

Isn't their best by any means, but then again, they never release their best stuff as the first single. Can't wait to hear the rest!

Ember to Inferno was my favorite album and this song isn't that bad to be honest. the people who are complaining blah blah you don't like it fine don't buy the album easy as that.

The clean vocal parts are okay but not as good as the best parts of Ascendancy/Shogun, but the 'In Waves' intro part is just the least interesting thing I've heard - didn't expect such generic -core riffing from Trivium.

I thought it was quite a surprising track - didn't expect it to sound quite like this which was a good thing. I look forward to hearing the rest.

I've actually never listened to Trivium.. And I will not be making that change today. Goodbye, cock suckers!!! My apologies for the rudeness.

Not bad, but I don't think this is something I could really get into. I like Ascendency but for some reason just can't get too excited about what they've done since.

I'm not so impressed about this..the beginning of the song was good, but then when the clean vocals came in it started to sound like some boy band..

Started with a breakdown... Not good. And then went to emo vocals... Not good. And then another breakdown... Take me away Satan... Shame, the Crusade is decent and Shogun was quite good.

The song is quite enjoyable, but it feels too predictable and the backing vocals are cutting off the song's balls. My enthusiasm is getting weaker and weaker...

Don't like it. Too poppy, too bland, too predictable, too unoriginal.
