Definitely the first thing that strikes you when you see this album is the amazing cover art illustration done by Kris Verwimp, I don't know about the creative process of the artwork, by he surely captured the essence of the band in one single image: Christian forces crushed down by pagan mighty vengeance, of course the only genres that extol this kind of mentality are Black Metal and Viking Metal, both related in a very close way, but I won't be writing about that today.

Viking Metal: folk passages combined with rough vocals, clear vocals, epic interludes; lyrics about Nordic people, battles, inner struggles, pagan gods and so on.
Manegarm manages to create another Viking Metal album filled with the right elements and the proper atmosphere.

My only problem with the album is that if you aren't a newcomer on the Manegarm territory, you won't find anything new that these guys haven't already done. The music is top notch, but the originality factor is zero.

Amazing tracks like "Sirgblot" with its amazing violin solo, or "Skymningsresa" (translated: twilight voyage) with the marvellous use of the mouth harp. Other stand-out tracks are "Kolöga Trolltand" (Charcoal-Eye Trolltooth) and the title track "Vredens Tid (The Age of Wrath).
As you can notice, all the songs are singed in Swedish but fear not because the booklet provides a translation for those without the proficiency in Nordic languages.

As I stated before, this is an amazing album, but the major flaw is the lack of new elements, thus making this very much alike to other Manegarm albums, newcomers will love this album and I'm sure this will inspire to seek other items of their discography, but be warned, not much difference between their albums, but still, you can't deny these guys make good music.

Would be great if he stopped trying to sing in that high register. Awful. I prefer Dodsfard as he was more content to just scream or stay low back then.
