Paradise Lost - Tragic Idol

Should be enjoyable as usual, a good Christmas present in 2112. (Edit: original release date was near Christmas)
Wondering if Greg's work in Vallenfyre delays the release of the paradise lost album. Don't take me wrong, I prefer records that aren't rushed.

In my estimation, It will be released way before December 2012. Next summer is the most likely date, I believe.

According to the band's official forum they entered the studio in August to work on their next album. They're doing a big tour in 2012 so it will probably be released in the latter half of the year.

The video for Honesty in Death is awesome. This one will be a great album.

It is very good album with few twists here and there....every song has something of their own which is something I missed on their previous album...there are songs that stands on their own and are really really good! to name the few, "Fear of Impending Hell" (a sort of ballad, with great sad melodies), "Solitary One" (a opener with some haunting piano tones), "Theories From Another World" (a really heavy one, whit some DM riffs, Vallenfyre anyone) or beautifully crafted "Worth Fighting For"...overall a solid 9 for me, the only complaint goes that some songs ends abruptly when I hoped for some promising transition...

The album is very solid and deserves my 7/10, but it's simply not as good as the wonderful "Faith".

This disc if the height of his great works of the 90's, the sound "Icon" is evident here, hardness, melancholy and atmospheres to create a record that will become a classic. The difference with this is that it has soul and songs that pass to the group's history. "Solitary One" "Fear of impending Hell" "Honesty in Death" "Tragic Idol" "Theories From Another World" or "To the Darkness" sound like the best times of Paradise Lost. 9 / 10

I'm liking this release considerably.

And out of nowhere 'Theories From Another World', fantastic track. Album sounds good in general though, I haven't paid much attention to this band's last few albums, perhaps I should have.

well they had a couple of great tracks on the previous album as well so for me it wouldn't be that surprising. Hence I thought you meant what I posted.

I should probably give that one a closer listen too, I think I heard some tracks off it but not much more than that. Judging by this album it would probably be well worth it.

A good album, the previous album was much better though; I gotta give this more listens, see how it goes.

Ah, damn. It's getting worse and too predictable with every listen. "Faith" was brillant and varied, this one is becoming flat, the refrains sound so samey... 6,5/10.

Still haven't heard this, thanks to them being on a retarded label.

What an "original" album

It is the best album of Paradise Lost in 1995, practically all the songs are great, Greg plays the guitar like never before, the voice of Holmes fabulous. The perfect union of "Icon" to "Draconian Times". Record of the Year

The song "Ending Through Changes" should appear among the best in "Tragic Idol" not as a mere "bonus track".

Very strong album, especially around the midsection.

I have been listening new album, of corse its not old good dead/doom era PL, but for gothic doom its awesome, but still somehow it feels like album has been criated fast lyrics are same, seems like its one big song split in parts , not bad and somehow after PL return to metal sound from other albums I like this moust

Perfect gothic metal. the riffs and solos really keep me hooked to the album. good job with the vocals too. but i expected more on the lyrics.
