"Another deathcore review?" you may ask, to which I will reply: "Yah brah, deathcore is da shizzle."

Okay, so I won't go that far. I will not recommend this album to anybody, as it is quite bad. You might say: "The music is well made, and the instruments are well played. What more could you want?" Well it turns out you could ask for more... You could ask for a lot more.

This album is pretty bland; nothing new is added to the mix. Sure it's well made and well played, but that doesn't matter if it's boring right? Right. If you have heard any deathcore album before you will experience nothing new, just some reused riffs, flat drums, and mediocre growls. The guitars are good - but not spectacular, played by Randy and Cory. They bring nothing new to the table. I do enjoy some of the riffs, however, such as the intro to "The Diseased And The Poisoned". The vocals and drums drown out the guitar, which is a shame because both the vocals and drums are very dull and uninspired. The bass is virtually non-existent in this album - again, thanks to the vocals and drums.

Focusing on the drums... they're just lame. Average blastbeats, boring double kicks, and random drum rolls. They have their moment on occasion, especially in the intro of "In Coalesce With Filth And Faith". Anything past that is boring and weak; they are played with no effort, as if he is playing the drums just to say that he plays drums.

The vocal work is also average. It's not the worst effort I've heard, but definitely far from the best. Scott needs to take some time and work on his high vocals; they are whiny and quite annoying. His low vocals are okay, but the only time he uses them is during sustained notes in breakdowns, which is disappointing to say the least.

The breakdowns in this album are no different than they are in any deathcore album. It seems every breakdown on this album is identical, or at least quite similar. Overall this is a disappointing album, and this is the last time I buy a random metal album from a used CD store. Avoid unless you're a scene kid with dyed hair and holes in your ears the size of the one in the Ozone layer.

Highlights: "Suffering"

I'm assuming "Suffering" is the only highlight because after that song the rest of the album is just too difficult to listen to.

5.8 rounds up to 6. 6 = average (by MS scores). Therefore this reviewer overrates the album.

Just kidding Willy.

Their new album is actually kinda good, but yeah, this is pretty lame, although not among the worst music I've heard, like I posted in some thread last year.
