Theocracy - Announce Video Contest


US progressive/power metallers Theocracy and their label Ulterium Records have announced a video contest that will be open until April 1st. Two winners will be chosen to win the band's latest album As The World Bleeds, among other prizes.

All you have to do is record a video of yourself playing or singing the band's track "30 Pieces Of Silver" and upload it to YouTube. You can have the original track playing in the video, as long as everything else is heard clearly. The link to the video should be sent to contest@ulterium-records.com to participate in the contest.

The two winners will receive the following prices:

1st place - the winner
- As The World Bleeds CD (signed)
- As The World Bleeds double gatefold vinyl edition (signed)
- A Theocracy T-shirt of your choice
- Contest video posted at the official Theocracy website and Facebook

2nd place - the outsider (the funniest, most creative video/addition)
- As The World Bleeds CD (signed)
- A Theocracy T-shirt of your choice

It's not like the fans aren't getting anything nice of it anyway.

I don't get the purpose of promotional videos since metal is not something you can find on most TV stations... all you need for promotion is one song on youtube in advance. So in that terms, the fans are doing the label a favor, but they're doing it with buying the CD also. It's not like the label will make heaps of money out of this, it's just that they're too lazy to spend actual money on it

Yeah, that's becoming one of the popular tool of marketing I suppose. From this, fans gonna be in contact and plus they will get a golden chance to get some cool merch/ latest album CD or something in return of their burning out their innovative ideas on some shit like this. Btw on the second note, Cannibal Corpse would have done something like this.
