After presenting his new album The Land Of New Hope, Timo Tolkki has released the first video of a new song with a vocal performance from Amaranthe singer Elize Ryd. You can see what you think about the song on the video below directed by Patric Ullaeus. The Land Of New Hope will be released on Frontiers Records on May 17th in Europe and May 21st in North America.

Tolkki managed to gather an amazing cast of singers and performers for this album including Michael Kiske (Unisonic), Elize Ryd (Amaranthe), Rob Rock (Impelliteri), Russell Allen (Symphony X), Sharon Den Adel (Within Temptation) and Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica). Rounding up the line-up of this album are: Alex Holzwarth (Rhapsody Of Fire) on drums and Jens Johansson (Stratovarius), Derek Sherinian (Black Country Communion), Mikko Härkin (Sonata Arctica) on keyboards with Tolkki taking care of all guitars and bass recordings as well as production.

It sounds like Rhapsody In Black from the Symfonia album.
Does anyone else get the impression that they were filmed separately to prevent them from pushing each other out of the shot?

I like this song, it's poppy but it works. It's almost surprisingly "naked" (considering Tolkki's words about the album being very symphonic/orchestrated). But then again, these kind of tunes are often picked for a single/video. As a sidenote, is it just me or does Elize sound quite "off" during the chorus?
