Nightwish - Wacken Show To Be Filmed For DVD Release

With just three shows left before they wrap up their Imaginaerum World Tour, Nightwish have just confirmed that the their show at Wacken on August 3rd will be special and will be filmed for a DVD/Blu-ray to be released later this year. The band will then document and immortalize their current line-up with touring singer Floor Jansen.

The band says: "The time has come soon to wrap up the magical & memorable one-and-a-half year Imaginaerum World Tour 2012-2013! We still have three shows left, one of them being at the legendary Wacken Open Air Metal Festival on the 3rd of August. This show will be something extra special, since it will be released later this year on DvD/Blu-ray, together with a massive Imaginaerum World Tour 2012-2013 documentary. Our darling flying Dutchwoman, Floor Jansen, has been nothing but incredible during her time in Nightwish on this tour, so this is a perfect opportunity to immortalize the current vibe of the band on film!"

The Wacken Open Air organizers are also preparing a 3D movie about the festival, so it seems like it will be a special festival all-around starting the day after tomorrow in Germany.

Fuck yes, it was mandatory for them to do this. If they kick her afterwards it's their loss

T: Nah, we'll take someone else.
F: But... we even made a DVD together! I thought...
T: No, you're totally not in the band.
Troy: I'm in the band *happy face*

T: Here's our farewell gift to you; a signed copy of the new DVD.

Haha yes, that's how they do it... "Immortalize their line-up", sure.

It does sound like they'll part ways after this, but maybe it was Floor who didn't want to stay? It's all speculation at this point.

Cool about the DVD though. Shame we didn't get one with Anette.

Fuck'n Awesome! this is actually a DVD worth buying, Floor blows Anette out of the water on the latest material and does justice to the oldies as well. Hopefully they'll include mp3's of the concert as well.

Could be her but I doubt it. Tuomas seems like a total control freak when it comes to the band. He's got LSD(lead singer disease) and he ain't even the lead singer.lol

Though I do wish they will keep her on, still crossin my fingers

Totally lost track of anything Nightwish since Tarja left. Might have to give the DVD a go, to see if Floor is as good with them as I would expect.

Grand! It would be a shame if they weren't going to release an official recording of Floor performing their songs. The "Made in HKG" live album was more like a collection of bootleg recordings... I hope they will include more old songs in the setlist... "Bless the Child" is superb in Floor's interpretation...
