Back in the days when Napalm Death released their sophomore effort, "From Enslavement to Obliteration," the band had certainly cemented their status as the band that "invented" grindcore, a genre that will go on to change the landscape of metal music forever. This album continues where they have left off in their debut album with a whole new set of personnel on board and these guys are no slouch! Featuring Messrs Steer on guitars, Dorian on vocals and Harris and Embury on drums and bass respectively. This lineup is a super-group of grind, if there ever was such a thing! Read more ›› |

Far better record than Scum imo, this album is what grindcore is all about, no nonsense, nothing beautiful about it, just half an hour of sheer in your face noisy brutality. What makes this album sound so great imo is the relentless heavy bass, and insane drumming. Mick Harris shows some seriously impressive drumming skills on this album that's for sure

People complain about early Carcass production, but this is way way waaaay worse. The guitar tone here is painful. The clanky smashy washy cymbals on the drums definitely don’t help it either.

Extremely heavy pure grindcore. This and Scum paved the way for the genre. Even Black metal fans would piss and shit themselves listening to this. One of the top grindcore albums of all time, infact i'd say its #2. #1 would belong to Terrorizer - "World Downfall"
