Fade gothic music with mystical passages, so the music becomes boring. To compare album ENTER with HYDRA. The true spirit of Within Temptation is to album The Heart Of Everything.
I understand that the band after years can change their face and style with incoming feelings but this is letdown for me. New EP atwork is ugly. I don't know, maybe bad idea.
To Hydra again: Enrique Iglesias cover ? What is it? Is this a joke? Again after The Q-Music Sessions. Recently, a lot of songs are featuring. Unnecessary projects and songs. Instead of Tarja could to sing Enrique Iglesias in song Paradise (What About Us?)

I have a better suggestion. If you like Mother Earth so much listen to it and leave the rest of the records aside. A band does not make decisions based on your opinions and they are free to explore whatever they want soundwise. If you do not like them now, just grab your Mother Earth CD, keep it under your pillow and stop listening to other WT records.

As for the band deciding to call it quits, that is their own problem, but unfortunately for you, as long as they sell I doubt they would call it quits just like that. If you do not care about their new shit songs playing on the radio then don't listen to them. Commercial music does not mean that the music is bad. They are not playing pop they just ventured into symphonic/melodic rock territory. Yes, you can say they left the metal realm.

And seriously, you're such a narrow minded person. If you're a metalhead that means you do not listen to anything else other than metal? Seriously dude, there are other musical genres that generate great records and that are not metal.

The fact that they're hyping this collaboration and the album cover features what appears to be Xzibit blowing his load in the background leads me to believe this is just Within Temptation fucking with their "fans".

I think you ought to read again. I never actually defended the latest release of the band, I am just tired of people like you and the other one just loves to bitch around here every time a band starts to explore a different direction that fans or former fans do not like.

I made my point clear, you don't like what a band is playing now? Fine by me, but is it worth bitching around about something you do not like? I told to that guy to just grab his Mother Earth CD and listen to it until he is satisfied and pretend the band ceased to exist from that point, like I do with Metallica after 1991. Is it really that hard? I doubt it, but no! Some people just can't abstain from being dicks.

Even I do not favor this album, but I did like The Unforgiving. I made my point clear a while back that much of what is shown on Hydra is rushed but it has some good tracks such as Whole World Is Watching and Silver Moonlight. The rest of the songs are decent, mediocre or very weak.

Read in context please. I mentioned about open-mindedness because that guy said that he is a metalhead and he wants his metal fix. A very narrow-minded way of thinking as far as I'm concerned.

And once again someone apparently doesn't know what narrow-minded actually entails.

It's sad to see the direction Within Temptation has gone in for the last couple of albums. The Heart of Everything was the album that introduced me to heavy metal but everything after that has just been a disappointment.

I wonder if Xzibit's been getting the same flack from his direction over this?
