Eternity is the first album of the Power Metal band Kamelot. It's also the first of the two the band recorded with Mark Vanderbilt doing the vocals. The guitarist and founding member, Thomas Youngblood, recently stated in an interview for the "Rock Hard" magazine, that when it comes to this album (along with their second one), 90% of their fans, are totally unaware of it. That's true and sad in a way, since it's a great album.

At best deranged

Probably the worst album they've ever made (though Dominion and Siége Perilous aren't that much better tbh). Glad they have made a bunch of better albums after these initial 3 albums.

Just skip the first 3 albums, they don't even come close to most of the albums after that.

I've read some horrendous review of this and judging by the comments here it's a less known fact that Kamelots first albums are bad. This is however totally wrong, Kamelot had a great start releasing two decent albums that are USPM sounding instead of the european power metal they later implemented. The songs here have really good structure with often the rythm section providing some great background to the guitars. I couldn't name a single bad song here, still there are not that many that reaches the heights of "great".

The vocalist usually gets some slack and he's no Geoff Tate which he tries often to imitate but he's still very solid for this kind of music and adds more than he takes away.

Check this one out if you like old school power metal. This is better than at least 90% of the power metal albums released today but back in the the 90's when competition was tight it just didn't cut it to become anything more than the start of something bigger.

Good debut, indeed.
Better than most (!) of what followed here.

Kamelots first couple albums are very good imo, verry different to the style they are known for though.

This first album definitely shows its age, power metal in its simplest and most uninteresting form
