Winterfylleth - Reveal New Album Cover And More Details

Another band releasing a new album this year is Winterfylleth. The UK black metallers just revealed the details of the impending The Divination Of Antiquity opus. Today you get to see the album cover, tracklist and release dates. The Divination Of Antiquity is to be released on October 6th, 2014 in the UK and the 7th of October in the rest of the world via Candlelight Records. As for the music, you have to be a little bit more patient but the frontman describes it as "melodic, passionate and expansive" and "including some slower, doomier elements."

Tracks:

01. The Divination Of Antiquity
02. Whisper Of The Elements
03. Warrior Herd
04. A Careworn Heart
05. Foundations Of Ash
06. The World Ahead
07. Over Borderlands
08. Forsaken In Stone
09. Pariah's Path

When asked about the new album, frontman Chris Naughton said: "The new album represents a real step forward for the band. I really think that we poured over the material much more meticulously in the making of this album and I think that shows through in the finished article. The new songs really focus on the more melodic, passionate and expansive end of our spectrum this time around, and we have also taken the opportunity to shine light into a few dark corners of our songwriting including some slower, doomier elements this time as well. We recorded the new album with Chris Fielding again, but this time at his newly established Skyhammer Studios and I think that's really given it a boost. His vision and a fresh recording environment has helped us to hone the essence of what a Winterfylleth record can be on 'Divination'. We hope you all agree! See you on the road later in the year."

Unless they go back to the amazing pagan metal-oriented sound of The Ghost Of Heritage I probably won't be interested in this at all.

Only album of theirs that I've got, The Mercian Sphere, was competent but a tiresome listen and I couldn't get into the Threnody of Triumph at all. Never heard the debut, but I'm still holding out some hope for this band.

Like Alex, the album of theirs I really enjoyed was the debut. The rest sounded pretty generic.

Still though, to see so much dislike for the band here is surprising.

of the two bands wodensthrone is definitely the one that is more interesting and promising. their debut was amazing, and even their sophomore was far better than anything winterfylleth ever released

Ugh if only. Wodensthrone is far superior. That is a band that knows how to make "atmospheric" black metal.
