I mean, there's nothing bad or unappealing about zoning out to an album, but it is important to consider whether the band in question wanted you to zone out or not, and I have a feeling Stigmhate didn't really want people using this album as background music. At best, though, that's what they've offered here.
Yeah, okay, maybe you won't use it as background music. If you're in love with the post-2nd-wave "myriads" style, and you like the black classics but don't like how lo-fi they are, say, there's probably plenty you'll enjoy on this. And no one will judge you for it, they'll just judge your taste in music.
It's not that what these guys have done on this is unlistenable?it's more of the same from them, and therefore more of the same more-of-the-same black metal?it's just boring. Yeah, there are catchy moments, furious-sounding bits and all of that good stuff, but there aren't enough catchy, furious bits to prevent staghnation. It's a slick, melodic black album that would have benefited from a handful more hooks.
It's not terrible. But there's ultimately so little here that writing a 250 word review is hard. Just need twenty-four more words though, twenty-four from the beginning of this sentence that is, this sentence that is, of course, and sand land.
