Nightwish - Premiere New Video
As they announced before, Nightwish are releasing their new single today from the upcoming album Endless Forms Most Beautiful. The first song you get to hear is called "Èlan" and you can watch the video for it here. It was directed by Ville Lipiäinen. After much anticipation, are you pleased with this first single and the video?
The song has surfaced online in advance of its release and Nightwish have issued a statement regarding the online leak here.
Tuomas Holopainen commented: "The long awaited Nightwish music video 'Élan' is finally here. Inspired by the untold stories of abandoned places around Finland, the video was nearly a year in the making and features some of the most loved Finnish actors and actresses. And also the legendary Nightwish symbol, a snowy owl (Bubo Scandiaca in Latin) called 'Urho' ('Braveheart')."
Endless Forms Most Beautiful drops on March 27th (Europe), March 30th (UK) and March 31st (North America) via Nuclear Blast.

A poppy song with some hook as the first single of a new album by them always is. This one is pretty good, Floor sounds great! The video is kinda lame.

I have to admit that I was expecting this. Nightwish pretty much always has released the more ballad-like soft songs as promo for their upcoming albums. Keep in mind folks that in pretty much every album they had a ballad or two while the rest of the songs were more fast-paced. This one isn't that bad, nothing mind-blowing.

Ok song, nothing special. Some parts are really dull and boring. Floor could do so much intressting vocals than this, this doesn't show her full potential.

Wow I'm amazed they were able to produce such a nothing-y song, I didn't think it was possible - I was hoping this album would be a comeback after the letdown that was Imaginaerum but this is worse than half that album. A nice voice and a vaguely okay folky melody do not a good song make

I couldn't stop laughing at the "what the fuck?" looks on their faces XD not their best song, not their best ballad but the rest will be easily able to clear this bar at least ^^

I think this will fit perfectly in the album. Catchy melody with folky tunes, nothing spetacular but overall everything in its place.

Ugh...the cheese Floors voice is amazing, shes a great singer and I like nightwish but the cheese...OMG the cheese...as a power metal fan I never thought I would be saying this

Well maybe giving us time to gear up....this technique looks familiar...amaranth was also a poppy track...but dpp turned out to be a good album..hope this ones too...but as always you never know..

May have been expecting too much but its a little underwhelming... Taking a step back from expectations its decent and very listenable and could make a good 'breather' song if the rest of the album has a bit more kick and complexity(which lets hope it does). Best way to put it: This is a metal song/video I could show to my girlfriend. Could be worse.
