"Hellish Videos" is a collection of all Helloween music videos from 1987 until 2003. Unfortunately their new one "Mrs. God" isn't featured, since it was produced in the same year this DVD was released. It was compiled and produced by the band's vocalist, Andi Deris, who did a very good job. The only problem I've found on this DVD is in the sound, which although is offered both in 2.0 stereo and 5.1 surround, the volume is low in nearly all of the tracks. This is obvious from the beginning, when after the introduction boost, you watch the first clips in lower volume?

If you exclude that factor, this DVD is one of my favourites. It's full of Helloween's humour and represents the band's way of seeing life. Each video is infused by the feelings and the ideas the band had each time they released an album. From the strange humour sense in the album "Pink Bubbles Go Ape" 'til the death and devastation feeling of "The Time Of The Oath", the band expresses in an extraordinary way their attitude and their personality through their videos. Most videos are funny and interesting to watch with different mood and sensibility each time. I don't know why I've never seen them on TV stations that feature music videos, but they definitely are far better than some other commercialized stuff? I guess TV has become so lame and cheesy nowadays?

About the technical stuff of the disc now; as I already said, the audio is offered both in 2.0 and 5.1 and both of them are fine. Only the volume is low, which is a bit annoying sometimes. The interface (main menu) is also simple and easy to select. The funny thing about it is that if you don't choose a clip to view, after a few seconds the band will start walking across your screen, knocking the glass! The bonus material is also quite interesting. Apart from the live video, you can see a photo gallery with pictures from the band's personal life during the 2003/04 tour and a "Tour Outtake" which features videos from the same tour, taken with the band's personal camera. It features not only live stuff, but the things they did apart from the stage as well! It's a nice chance to meet the band better and come closer to their everyday life.

In closing, I would recommend Hellish Videos to all Helloween fans. I had been waiting a long time for an official release of their video collection and I wasn't disappointed at all. Also the price is very good, but usually that depends on where you live? Anyway, don't miss this stuff!
