Checked it the other day without expecting anything in particular and was blown away! Atmosphere is super dense and intense, the moment the first riff starts is quite a thing. I like it even more than Nightbringer stuff.

Far exceeds any Nightbringer material. One of the best BM records of the year so far. This will be hard to top.

I'm late to the game I guess, but better late than never. Finally getting to this today and it really is pretty damn awesome. Rivaling Scar Sighted for my favorite BM release this year

This album is so saturating. Too much sound for so simplistic composing. The most overrated album this year, so far.

Just listened to the entire album. Sounds like a slightly more easy-listening, more melodic and less straightforward-aggressive Nightbringer. Excellent. Naas Alcameth hits it again. God I like what this guy does. I must order my copy right away.

I liked it a lot more than Mysprosmfbsggg, but I think that's mostly because of the swirling wall of sound approach which does a pretty good job in glossing over the fact the songs are a bit rudimentary. Not so much on 'Consummation' though, which really dragged on. Would like to see them make more use of the dark ambient components in the future. Not just chucking them on the start / end of tracks. Not bad though, but I'd rather listen to the new Leviathan I think. Just way more to it.

Don't really know what to listen to now.

Pyramids is probably competing for my fave record this year actually. AFoS I haven't touched yet. I think because I know it's probably strayed even further from the first couple of albums' styles I'm putting it off a bit. I might give it a ago after the Botanist EP though.

Oh yeah, I forgot the say that artwork of this album always makes me think of Yubaba / Zeniba from Spirited Away.

And you're right, it has. Those were the only two out of my favorites I wasn't sure whether you had listened to though.
Also, the new Sigh will probably please you.
And maybe Advent Sorrow, not sure how I feel about that one myself. I have to give it another proper listen.

I recall listening to the new Sigh a while back on less than great earphones but thinking it was pretty good. Quite bombastic, almost Bal-Sagoth-y at points. Good stuff, definitely needs a revisit. Advent Sorrow. I think I remember the cover art of that one from the 2015 releases thread. It looked sort of blackened hardcore-like going by the cover. Will queue it up at any rate.

I'm glad you been "fucking away," sounds like fun =P

Cheers for the recs. I did hear a bit of Vaee Solis earlier. The vocals put me off a little, but if you think it's worth pushing through it I will.

If Outre are as good in the studio as they were live I second that suggestion.

They're as good if you ask me but I'm not objective when it comes to my native BM scene

Really one of the best BM records of this type I've heard. I wish it was longer, and it says something given the fact that it is a very dense record. Also, I really love the vocals, too.

I love how in your face the vocals are.

AWAKEEEEEEEEEEEEN!!!!!!!!
AWAKEEEEEEEEEEEEN!!!!!!!!

First time in ages that I listen to this record. Completely forgot how good it was. Such a vicious sound on those riffs. Relentless and very dense production indeed. I'd say the length is good for the album. Makes me wanna hit replay easily.

The ambiance is super intense and the vocals are unbelievably sinister! It's a great album indeed, very much in the vein of Lurker Of Chalice.
