Terrific news come from the Finnish power metallers Sonata Arctica today, as the band announced their 2016 North American tour, headlined by fellow Finns Nightwish and also featuring Dutch symphonic outfit Delain. The announcement also carries news from the awaited ninth full-length studio album, which the band will work on in the spring of 2016.

Sonata Arctica's keyboardist Henrik "Henkka" Klingenberg states: "It's again been far too long since our last American tour, so we're really happy to announce that we're coming back once again... and with Nightwish nevertheless. As we'll be working on our next studio album in the spring of 2016, be ready to hear some surprises during the tour. Even if we prepared to be in the studio for the whole spring, this was an opportunity that we couldn't pass on and we're all looking forward to see our North American fans once again and kick some ass.
