Glorior Belli - Announce New Album, Streaming Song

Fueled by all things rotten, the French metallers Glorior Belli have announced the release of Sundown (The Flock That Welcomes), due out this May 5th through Agonia Records, with various editions available here.

About Sundown, the band comments: "The production is by far one of the best that Glorior Belli ever had. Drums and bass are absolutely devilish and placed under the spotlight. Everything was recorded, mixed and mastered in our own studios, having an absolute control as usual over the sound. The guitar work overall will bring you back to the origins of Glorior Belli.

Conceptually wise, Sundown (The Flock That Welcomes) will smother you with darkness and light, both stuffed down your throat with the same rage that could be heard on Glorior Belli's earlier records. When the Night is coming down on you, will you find a way through the dark? A record for the very few of us who truly embrace the desire to break from the cosmic prison."

Sundown (The Flock That Welcomes) tracklisting:

01. Lies-Strangled Skies
02. World So Spurious
03. Rebels In Disguise
04. Thrall Of Illusions
05. Sundown (The Flock That Welcomes)
06. Satanists Out of Cosmic Jail
07. Upheaval In Chaos Waters
08. We Whose Glory Was Despised

Sounds more akin to their pre - Meet Us At The Southern Sign material, with a little bit of crunch and groove from the more recent albums thrown in towards the end. I totally wouldn't mind a fusion of those two styles, if the album as a whole is like that I think it's gonna be some pretty great shit

For whatever reason i didn't really like "Meet Us", but loved the album that preceded it, as well as the last two. Excited to hear this when it comes out, but going to avoid streaming tracks until i can get it in it's entirety.

Didn't actually spot the artwork when listening to the song. Very nice indeed.

I would agree with you there, definitely think The Great Southern Darkness and Gators Rumble, Chaos Unfurls did a better job at nailing the whole "southern black metal" thing than Meet Us... did. That one seemed like more of a test run for it than anything else
