Neither was I. And try before you buy doesn't seem to apply for this album. No spotify, bandcamp, youtube.
The youtube preview has comment "You want to support true artistry? Order this album at www.theprojecthate.net right away then."... fair enough

The riffs are delicious as always, but as always the songs are just faaar too long. Don't think I will ever listen to it again. It works in doom and post metal, but not in death (or maybe one or two long songs per album is ok, but not an entire album)...

I feel like Lord is getting too monotonous. Does this sound like their other stuff?

Yeah, not like the last couple, a bit more in the vein of Armageddon March Eternal, which is a welcome change of sound and production value. But no, it is not a drastic change in sound, and the songs are as long or longer than always...

The Entity
I must be one of few who think this band really started to hit its stride since going for the "TPH Donation" thing, I mean... I loved "AME" and "In Hora" but as soon as "TCRA" came those albums have been gathering dust more often. And this new album, "Death Ritual Covenant" is my new favorite with them. I can see people getting tired of them, only because it takes so much out of the listener to really get into this new stuff which is way more in depth then their earlier stuff, which ofcourse still has its charm. But talent-wise, this project never been better. Componsition-wise, never more complex or deep. And the rest is objective, but I think its better then the beloved (but much weaker) Jo era stuff...

At first I thought you were dead wrong. Having spent the last two months basically exclusively listening to TPH, I agree. Although I think their true golden era started with Of Carnal... The last 5 efforts are fooking awesome and insane. I really don't need any other metal anymore, haha.
