Yeah, this album is cheesier than a Swiss raclette... Victorius went full overboard with cheesy lyrics and themes in Space Ninjas From Hell. But let's be honest, that's exactly what you would expect from an album with that title and cover art. But the question is, did Victorius make good cheese? Actually, let's start with the lyrics. If you aren't a fan of cheeky B-movie style themes, then this record is not something for you. It reminds me of a videogame called Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon in a lot of ways. Written by JoHn Doe on 17.01.2020 at 15:39 Actually I think there's quite a lot of anime fans who also listen to metal sorta, and the anime OPs are metal influenced sometimes. I think some labels try to reach this new audience, with Battle Beast (or Beast In Black? I don't remember) having Berserk-themed lyrics for instance, or Epica with Attack On Titan. I mean, this isn't strictly anime, and ninjas have already been a subject for other metal releases in the past... But I believe we'll see more and more of nippon/power/weeb/cheesy/hardcore/kawai/metal in the future On the other hand it's a perfectly enjoyable album if you're on the modern power metal side. (which I'm not). EDIT: Or... they just don't mind the cheese, and do whatever, watching people getting mad and giving them free advertising

This is a great album of power metal and a funny one. If you don't have sense of humor this album is not for you. And yes sounds very like Drangonforce

Despite the cheesy themes and lyrics, the music is great. It's my 2nd fav album after Dreamchaser.

I have absolutely nothing against bands like Gloryhammer and Beast in Black. They make some of my favorite goofy, over-the-top power metal. They are also much better songwriters in my opinion than this band. I actually prefer when my power metal is more grounded and honest in its fantasy presentation - hard to find among these tongue-in-cheek, self-aware, meme bands. You shouldn't stroke the lyrical cheese cannon and overly-layered instrumental masturbating too hard or you're gonna come out chaffed. Still probably fun to watch live if they push the theme on their stage presence.
